Fender Custom Furniture

Matthew Souther & Jason Krzmarzick

The story is a simple one: One guy has an idea, the other figures out how to make it happen. Jason's background is in graphic design, hot rods and destroying things in the shop - oh and he's a drummer so we don't know where the hell the "guitar" part came from. Anyway, he thought that the classic shape of Fender headstocks would lend itself to a cool coffee table. Books were read, sketches were drawn and they both headed off to the shop for prototyping. Form and function caused many fist fights and break-ups, but the dust did settle and it all ended with the awkward "guy hug". A winning table prevailed. They thought it would be "kinda fun" to send one to Fender and see what they thought. They loved it. So much so that they've asked us to come up with a complete custom furniture line. The Fender HotSeats were next up leading the way to a family of cool Fender furniture pieces (stay tuned for more). With the pressure on and the demand now being super high, Matt kicked it in high gear and began working closer with Fender's stateside and overseas manufacturing as well as working on huge sales orders and oh yeah, marketing. This venture has been quite a ride and we are so lucky to have developed a solid relationship with Fender. They are a great bunch of people to work with and have been more than accommodating.
